Best DIY Worm Farm for gardening or fishing | How to Woodworking

A little known fact about me is I love to garden. If you are a woodworker or a DIYer and gardener this worm farm can produce 40 lbs of worm casting and gallons of worm tea every month for fertilizing your plants.

Awesome video. I have the plastic worm farm bin but have always wanted to make my own to harvest more worms and get more black gold!!! Thank you!

Izzy, looking to upgrade my bathtub worm farm and did a search on YT, saw your mug, and thought, I know that guy from circular saw table and jigs from a while back and had to see what you had to offer. This is fantastic project and am going to use this design. I guess only thing I am curious about is the way the worms go up to the next tray. Guess you just have to make sure the bottom tray if filled to the top so there is not a gap. Went to Instagram to see follow-up info but did not find any. As others mentioned thanks also for the speed square tip; and also appreciated your technique for joining the wood pieces with that wood spade bit and angling that hole to join together. Seems super simple and will give that a try. No glue!

I don’t know if you still check comments on this but here goes. My hubby made one of these for me an it turned out pretty cool! I only have one concern. Can my worms escape from the bottom box? My hubby just followed and did it in ways he knew, he’s not a wood wizard, so there may be gaps between the bottom and the boxes.

That speed square hack was pretty cool. I have a small worm "farm" made with buckets. I really like the look and design of your build here. But, with lumber at a premium right now (2022), I'm going to make one using pallet wood. I hope it turns out well. Thanks for all the awesome tips and tricks.

Nice looking setup. You're right about what not to feed them, but they also devour most fruit and veggie cores and peels, corn cobs, coffee grounds, wood chips… NPK machines fueled by carbon.

I thought worm tea was made with the castings soaking in water. There seems to be misinformation regarding this

hI iZZY, first things first,, i loooove how you make the boxes in wood instead of in that hideous plastic. i mean, you want to stay natural in your proces, right ! Well done !
