Using the cast net to catch shad and other baitfish was super fun and a great change of pace to spend this beautiful fall day!
Unfortunately the day was cut short because of homework but I think I will for sure be putting that cast net to work again in the future!

"Where are all the bass?" Dude you are catching bass… It's a bass
You might want to check the rules and regulations in your state however in my state Wild-caught bait fish shall only be used on the body of water where ever taken. Bait collected in the stream/river above a reservoir, cannot be used in the downstream reservoir. Bait fish taken from a flowing stream can be used in any flowing portion of that stream provided an upstream crossing of a dam or natural barrier does not occur. Wild-caught bait fish may be used as live bait only within the pool of the lake or impoundment where taken, except that bluegill and green sunfish collected from non-designated aquatic nuisance. Disease and parasites can be introduced into an ecosystem due to contamination from one location to another. Thank You. Oh by the way Hi from Texas. Ha ha
Whats up Chris your vids are great bro. i have a few tips about the cast net, your buddy is teaching you how to throw the cast net but hes showing you his way which is all fine but theres tons of ways to throw a cast net and as long as you throw it in a circle it doesn't matter how you throw it but he is making it wayyyyyy more technical then it should be poeple wrap the net around there arm when there throwing a 10 foot one but thats not needed with a small one
use your left hand to grab the top of the net were it starts , grab a weight with your right hand and put it in your left hand along with the net , (so your left hand is holding the entire net and 1 weight ) then take your right hand a grab a weight so then your ready to go just twist back and then almost swing it like a frisbee way easier and you dont have the net dangling over your arm all wet try it out
it is always hard the first time I show people how to throw a cast net. I don't do it like your friend was doing it but I can't really explain it.. looked like a great place to fish.
Hey Chris I'm 14 and I've thrown cast nets from 4-18 feet and have a very simple way to throw cast nets up to 6ft just simply grab halfway or a quarter of the way down the net with your right hand then put one piece of led in that same hand then rub your hand down that weight line and lift up the bottom of that weight line in you left hand and spin and throw like a frisbee
Shout out to your dude Josh, reppin' Toledo in the SJJ hoodie! Go Titans! Fall bite is rough this year!
