This is the last video we have from our trip fishing the pacific northwest. Our buddy Jacob Mikoleit of mikoleits guide service invited us to fish out of Depoe bay, Oregon. Our goal was to catch ling cod and rockfish, but we didnt stay out there as long, as the weather turned bad on us. Ling Cod are a tasty fish found on the pacific coast of the U.S. Some fish have a genetic mutation that turns their meat a blue/green color. About 1 in 20 fish posses this gene. We brought some lingcod home to Florida and I made it for dinner with our butcherbox shrimp!

You must not like the flavor of lingcod or the shrimp for that matter putting all that stuff on it seems like kind of ruined the taste

So here's a question: since you've tried all three, how does lingcod compare in flavor to either grouper or tilefish? And it's so cool they let you fish the fun way for lingcod and rockfish. Too many charter boats just want to put limits in the boats as fast as possible. Dragging a 10oz lead up from 150 to 300 ft is more work than fun

"BBQ sauce is made with ketchup.' NOPE! The three major BBQ sauces in the USA are:
1.) Vinegar Based (Kansas City and others)
2.) Brown Sugar & Tomato based (St. Louis & the south)
3.) Mustard Based (Carolinas)

I'm sure there are others. But I've eaten BBQ all over the USA and no self-respecting chef ever served me something based on Ketchup. <3 the video, though.

Really a lot of the problem with sea lions is a because there’s a poorly managed salmon fishery. The sea lion population has increased and is putting additional pressure on a salmon population that’s already struggling. But that’s almost entirely our fault. To be clear that barely anything to do with recreational fishing. That doesn’t affect salmon populations nearly a much as damming, commercial fisheries and salmon farming (which introduces pollutants and disease into wild populations).

Seems like rockfish is the most generic name for a fish anywhere. Literally every single place in the world has a rockfish.
