That pole is it stainless steel? Coz m going ocean usually, great video 👍👍👍👍
Excellent, thank you for sharing this. I am about to build one like yours.
What is the power cord you’re running to the camera? I’ve got a dedicated 10amp hour battery for this but I need a long cord… do you happen to have a link for the power cord by chance?
I got it done and I can't thank you enough for the how to! I'm getting some great footage on my new Boom Stick come check it out!
Just made out an order but the Scotty base is almost impossible to find now. Everyone has them discontinued!
Just curious your cost on this? I added parts to my amazon cart and it totals 66.23. It seems that this is pretty much the same price as the Railblaza? Granted, you have to by the star mount for another $10
Awesome! Pretty thorough video. I'll be making one for my kayak fishing and camping trips I already have the mono pod so it won't cost much at all. thanks for sharing!
What kind of cable connectors are those which secure your cable to the boom? I see you used two, but I don't know what type.
Thanks for the video. Just bought a pro angler, and I thought your setup was legit! I just purchased the Scotty mount, slip discs and mono pod through your links! 🤙🏽
I had to buy 50 to get one. Lol
I should open up shop and start selling them one at a time. Lol
Nice…how long is that screw with the slip disc set. I had extra scotty screw I was using but it was too short
This idea is the best I've seen. Thought, what if you pulled off the rubber end and cut off the metal point. What size is that bolt? It looks slightly larger than a 1/4×20
I don't think it was mentioned but you will be required to remove one of the nuts on the scotty rod holder for the bolt to reach all the way thru 🙂
Just waiting on UPS to deliver my monopod already have all the other ingredients to get on cooking. My question are you able to waterproof GoPro to use with an external battery source which would be a greay idea? Thanks for the great video.
Dope setup! What size drill bit did you use to drill the base screws?
This is the probably THE best gopro mount design idea I've ever seen anywhere, being able to swing around and vertically. Definitely better than the railblaza boom 600. It also looks to be very sturdy on that scotty track mount on your yak. The only small drawback is that the targus pole is a bit too heavy. My kayak has a softer plastic hull so it's going to flex more with the weight of the camera and the pole. Nonetheless I think I'll copy your idea and maybe substitute the targus pole with a light one- or just use the top 2 sections of the targus pole instead of the whole length.
hey brother man where did you find that set screw. all the hardware shops by me only have the like 1/2" length 1/4-20 set screws
Nice DIY bro. Gotta make one of these broke mine at the base this past weekend. Thank for sharing
Damn good video bro. Gonna have to build one of these one of these days when i get a 2nd camera. Im over in antioch just south of you.
I am going to save this video.. and I am going to make this .. and then I am going to take said device and challenge you to a battle!! lol.. Just kidding.. great vid man.
