Is there a video on how to use these rods? I haven’t quite figured out the best way to fish with one.
I have seen the finished product. These poles are very high quality! You are quite the craftsman.
what size drill bit did you use in the drill press? I'm making one in shop class.
Cause I don't have the time or money to make one and I really want to ice fish for cheap
I love the rod could you send me a fishing pole please your video was so so awesome
Those are way cool! They have a nostalgic look to them. Like the shell guides too.
Is there any other types of wood that you know of that you can use for making the poles that you know of? we are in the U.P. but our land is soft maple and pine.
Jim I just loved watching the process of seeing how these poles are made. I am just in awe of your wood working skills my friend! We finally have ice on the Bay here! Now I just need to get the temps to where I can go out and try them out! I don't have a shanty yet and the winds have been so high that the wind chills have been double digit below zero but soon I will be out and I can't wait! GREAT video!
I was surprised how captivated I was by this video. Nice to see craftsmanship on display. Boy, that is a nice, neat shop you have. I had a good chuckle over your dilemma of what to shoot at — I cynically thought to myself, "Well, you've got neighbors, don't you?" And then you come back saying, "Well, my neighbor…" lol. Stingers must make a good "crack" out of that little single-action revolver.
Great craftsmanship man. Down here I think the ice fishing pole would make a great creek pole and would be fun.
Nice shop. My grandfather would hand carve ice fishing poles, as the only power tool he had was a table saw. Thank you for the video
LOL… neighbor shouldn't be leaving his pop cans out;) … but seriously nice job on those poles! You just captivated a desert dweller into wishing he had some ice to fish:)
