Hey quick question if you don’t mind, when finding opelu during the season or not does your boat motor scare them away or do you go to like a spot or ko’a where they always are just curious so I can refine my opelu finding around my area, 🙏 Mahalo

38 arm spans for your corners seems long. I think 40 for the short outrigger is about my length. My handline is only 10 arm spans. But its shorter than my short corner. Maybe I will make another handline longer. What do you run your corners at? 35?

Mahalo for your help setting up my boat handline rig. I have one of those old yellow fiberglass rigs(Sea Horse Hawaii brand rig by Clark Sales here in Honolulu). Growing up on Maui we fished off my friend's boat using simple 'surgical' lines off the cleats. Back then Tiagras was out of the question. Now that I run 80's off my 26' powercat, I wanted to at least have one of these babies set-up for quick deployment when aku/shibi popping. Tight lines!

Keep up with the vids! Have a larger version I use for Ono. I don't run the line through the tube, just on the outside. Was thinking of trying bungee dock lines for ease. Mahalo Nui
