First ever footage of a deep sea fang tooth or fangtooth fish catching prey. The fang tooth Anoplogaster cornet, the common fang tooth, is a poorly understood type of ray-finned fish. It’s so different compared to many other fish and there are only two known species in its family. The fins are small and spineless and the scales are like the plates of a tank! Caught in the deep trench of San Clemente, California, at 600m with a cod-end trawl and filmed in a special kreisal tank, it’s pretty mean fish and soon finds a shrimp to catch!

I wonder if people could adapt these deep sea fish to live in low pressure and thus be able to live in an aquarium. Seeing that the fish still had the will to eat after the stress of being dragged up from the depths is impressive.
Fish that live that deep cant naturally act as the do in an environment that is man made , look how she swims , very agitated
It's like the deeper you go… The more odd n scary the sea life is… I mean look at the angler? Mad or what? every type of angler fish is bizarre to look at..
Apparently it's jaw muscles are off the charts aswell so it has some serious advantages
Me when I was driving at home coming back coming into the kitchen making some breakfast I was looking in the counter I opened the jar and then I saw this giant alien fish
I think this one dying and that shrimp is getting sucked instead of getting eaten by the fish.
For being trawled up 600m I'm surprised it was still even alive. I guess having no swim bladders considerably saves them from Barotrauma.
We all adore shrimp❣️ 🦐 (Barring those allergic)
This music is awesome, BTW… Please share the song title/info. 🙏🏽
What i would give to have been able to drop one of these in the water when my my 'ex' was having a bath and watch her face! Ahhhh,i'll sleep well tonight with that mental picture
He talking bout the shrimp got away boyyy the shrimp dead the fish didn’t even want it✌🏾
How fast is it? I'm doing a science project and I chose this fish but can't find any research on its speed 🙁
A truly amazing fish of the deep sea. It litteraly hadits food in its mouth and it managed to escaped.
How did they get it to the surface without it dying of lack of pressure? They need pressure to survive.
