I was 14 years old when I asked Joey to build a betta sorority under one of his videos. I’m now 21 and Joey might just finally do it 😭

Dear Joey, I remember watching your video on how to build an acrylic tank. You were super quiet and shy of the camera. Called Uaru Joey at that time, the video content was fantastic. Keep going Mate your videos are very entertaining. P.S. Very glad you're getting back into the DIY side of things again…..

I am still amazed how the silicone can hold up so many gallons of water ..when for a human ..even by lifting it when being empty ..can be quite hard and heavy.

Guppies. You can teach us about them and how to breed them

Hey Joey,

Tamara is hilarious when she's 2 sheets to the wind! But honorable in that she's being supportive.

As I've been watching the last few weeks of videos, since you were in Ohio, I gotta tell ya, I'M VERY HAPPY THAT YOU'RE GETTING BACK TO WHERE YOU BEGAN, BUT DOING IT FROM WHERE YOU ARE NOW!
I'm so happy your taking down this last rendition of the gallery, because honestly, and I wanted to say this months ago when you were building it, it really lacked any…anything, and I could tell that you were hitting a wall. I didn't want to say anything then and deflate you anymore. I'm so glad that you found the door.

To me, and this is my opinion, but an Aquarium Gallery should really show the AQUARIUMS, not walls. Which it seems you've realized. I would even stretch it to say that the wall in between the Piranha tank and the rest of the gallery, personally, I think it would be better if the wall wasn't there because it's blocking viewing the WHOLE GALLERY. The Piranha's are part of the gallery.

I have an idea for the 2 aquariums of salt by the Piranha Aquarium!
Why not keep them but stack them in the corner that Tyrese is already in now and use them as a grow out aquarium for the Lions? (I don't know if Tyrese and the Lions would get along well, and can see Tyrese trying to make lunch of one of the Lions, and both end up dead. Tyrese because of being envenomated and the Lion because it got chonked .)
Then your making more space on the other side of the entrance door?

Putting the salt water tank above the Discus tank also would be a concern incase the salt tank leaks into the discus tank. You know how sensitive Discus can be. Make 2 more aquariums the same dimensions as the other 2 on the other side of the door and put the guppies and Betta colony in, of course, stacked as well? OR, Above the Discus, make a massive Guppy tank with different breeds of guppies altogether a fully scaped aquarium with a massive colony of shrimp, maybe Crayfish and Coryadoras as cleaners?

If you were to take this idea and try it, then you gain 2, maybe 3 free aquariums to do more with.

Oh, and the walls. They were much better looking with the aquariums when they were black…or maybe think of painting them Forrest Green throughout the whole gallery. The white walls…it's like going into a fish room in the "NS" (NSMH). I grew up in Dartmouth, so those acronyms you should know as well.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts and a couple ideas as you asked for.

Absolutely guppies, not bettas. The bettas might get confused going up the to the tower to breathe and have no air up there. I'd love to see a betta sorority tank, but not in that tank. Do it in a regular open tank with a bunch of plants.

Hats off to moving that tank on your own, Joey! Like you said multiple times, it's dangerous. Aside of the overall weight, if the tank broke… I guess it would similar to a broken large carboy, a risk of serious injury. 4 guys moving such tank sounds reasonable… From my own experience, 3 people is the minimum or 2 LFS workers.

What happened to all those tanks and stands you had there? The double stacked 120s wall of variety tanks and species?

Reply

Betta sorority! I love the piranha tank as it is. Crypts are my favorite plant. You could add more of them to that tank, like taller varieties. Crypt Usteriana is a new one for me.
