You can make an awesome knot tool with just thick or high gauge fishing wire. Unlike those made of flimsy material like plastic tubes or the like the only way you break these would be to cut them with bolt cutters or pliers. This DIY knot tool might not even cost you anything if you already have the wire.

I made this DIY Knot tool to help me tie knots in the dark, but is quite useful for people with big fingers as well as people with failing eyesight or generally tying knots in the dark or are just having a hard time tying knots.

This is a tool you can make easily and mostly free, it only takes wire to make this home made knot tool, some tools and this video.
