Today we are going to take a first look at a budget fishing reel by ExBert. It is a shallow spool BFS style reel that comes in at 143g (says 145g online) and is a very similar price to the Seasir Cast X. I am hoping this reel will perform equally to the Cast X but be lighter and more stylish looking. This reel has a fast gear ratio compared to its competitors at 8.1:1 which may interest some people. The handle despite looking heavy is only 2 grams lighter than a typical carbon handle with Daiwa/Dark Wolf Ultra style knobs (18g vs 16g).
