Traditional wagger fishing may be somewhat of a forgotten art but it’s certainly a tactic that can catch a lot of fish. We joined Mark Pollard for a session on the river where he set about explaining how to catch more fish on the waggler.

Another good video with excellent shots of the float , better than other videos I’ve seen recently of 2hrs looking at the back of the angler sitting on his tackle box!
I've have more spot on tips that I'll implement from this man than I have nearly any other from the day I started fishing
class act Mark , you can't beat the stick or the wag, sadly the rivers are not what they used to be, 40 years ago the avon and the severn were amazing venues full of chub, dace roach and barbel, those wonderful days.
Question if I may. Would you use the 16 diameter for stick float? As it’s advertised as sinking like a brick. Looking for a new stick float line, that won’t brake the bank💪👍
Mark, appreciate you can't answer every posts, but I'd love to know who if anyone organises opens on this stretch? Great vid, thanks.
For everyone else, if you like this vid of Polly catching silvers – check out his one on fishing in Holland – belting roach!!
Beach casting exactly the same, Rod left hand right hand wind. Brill video.
Lovely lovely fishing, wish there were more videos and anglers out on natural water fishing, it’s not easy fishing till you get the basics right then it’s a dream. The fish see more boats than anglers, is something I had remind team members that would let boats put them off. On canals and rivers. New rod looked very responsive 👍
Thank you mark and Team Matrix💪
Good to see ya still bagging mate,no right or wrongs in fishing! Whatever works for ya! Cheers,Clive m/
Great Video Guys ! I’m cack handed too ! I’m Right Handed and can only wind a reel with the handle on the right ! Managed for over 50 years now 😂👍🙏🏻
Hi Mark and Matrix, well i have watched Mark fishing and yes, i thought he was cack handed but if i was half as good as Mark i wouldn't care! Now while i'm local to Mark i havn't fished that bit of the Gt Ouse and it did look a lovely stretch of the river. I did wonder at the shotting pattern because it looked like a strung out pattern more suited to the stick. But it did work well on the day and is this your way on the waggler Mark or did you put more shot down to avoid the bleak? Some beautiful close ups of the float in action, something difficult to achieve to do fishing and fiming solo. Loved the video. Kindest regards Bill
Re the cack handed approach…. Could it be the fact that reels like the Mitchells didn't have interchangeable handles and that left handed reels were as rare as rocking horse poo in the 70's??
Nice to see mark on my local stretch just a shame I never got to see the masterclass in person
