Very sorry for your loss. Always sad losing a family member. I consider all my pets family members. It's so hard to tell when fish get sick or to tell what killed them. It definitely wasn't anything you did. You always keep the best fish and maintain your tanks to the highest degree.
It's never easy losing a fish, there's always a few that hurt just a little bit more.
2 summers ago, I started losing fish in my show tank, started dreading turning the lights on in the morning. I finally decided to cut one open and peel back a gill plate. It was not easy but I finally knew what was in my tank. Might want to think about doing the same. If it's internal parasites, it's very obvious as also the gills.
What happened to the dolphin fish? Did they end up passing? I’ve been wanting to keep them for years now and always hear about bad experiences with them

I lost two of my Albino Pearl Rays on Saturday with no signs of a reason. Third Ray and all the other fish are all ok. There were no signs at all such as curling or bite marks or redness around the gills. I feel your pain.

So very sorry for the loss of LaVacca. I'm really going to miss seeing her. She was such a beautiful fish and I loved her personality. This is the saddest part of having any pets/friends…their unexplained passing. Again so very sorry for your loss guys.
I know how it feels when you lose a friend, which LaVacca was. I've had horses that reached the age 28, 32 and 36, my bird was 40, my dogs and cats were all in their mid- to late-teens. It's never easy. You just have to keep moving forward with life.

The loss of any family member is always painful, whether hairy, drooly, or scaley. You were something else, Lavaca. You will be missed. Sorry for your loss, Big Rich, Josh, and her admirer, Reaper. You do amazing work and I appreciate the vulnerability of showing this sad outcome and the daily life of your family. Unless you do it, you can’t understand the energy and effort it takes to share your life with the general public. Everyone has an opinion and too many hide behind their keyboard.
