A pleasant Autumnal day sees me heading out with the head cam to fish a rather low and clear little river, putting the wax worms through their paces and catching a few of this diminutive waterways healthy inhabitants. Unfortunately the larger chub and perch eluded me, but I would rather have some realism and show how some trips can really test your stealth and water craft as an angler.

Mark, how long do the waxworms last before becoming pupae and have you tried them in that state?
Show how to attach the baits all those extra tips anglers always have everyone has their ways show the way you tie the hoolks the way you attach baitsetc hlw you go about chilsing thespot to fish
Excellent video thanks for the information 👍on the mouth grubs looking 👌 faward to trying them 😀
I'm really enjoying our videos Mark. Plenty of fishing channels on Youtube but your show your enjoyment of catch multiple species of fish. The play list on your channel speaks for itself. Diverse fishing on real wild rivers. Thank you for taking the time to make them.
Oh Mark! Just prior to you catching that Brownie, when you were watching the twitches on your tip, I was shouting "Sit on your hands! Sit on your hands!", lol. Great video, and lovely Perch, well done. Thanks for a great video, all the best to you.
Hi Mark, you mention that the worms are buoyant but how buoyant are we talking? I was thinking of using them to try to sort out some bigger (possibly monster) roach from a local pool but now am wondering to what sort of lengths I will need to go to keep them sunk (ie. a certain size of hook or pinning it down with shot like a pop-up)?
THIS FOR THOSE WHO FISH. DO NOT BUY ON LINE FROM "THE WORM DEPOT". THEY HAVE BBB BAD REPORTS. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THEM ALSO. THE DEPOT DOES NOT SEND WHAT YOU ORDER THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE, AND EMAILS. I PAID FOR 2 DAY SERVICE AND THEY SHIPPED MY ORDER AND I RECIVED THE ORDER 4 DAYS LATER. I WANTED JUMBO NIGHTCRAWLERS I GOT RED WIGGLERS SO SMALL THAT YOU COULD NOT GET THEM ON A HOOK. THE HORMWORMS SOME WERE DEAD AND MOST ARE DEAD NOW. THEY WERE TO LIVE 3-4 WEEKS… DO NOT BUY FROM LET ANY ONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS.
great video, for relaxation and for variety of fish. can't believe you caught such nice sized fish in that small stream. count me as a subscriber.
Nice video mate! Couldn't find maggots here in the states (Michigan, moved here 20 years ago) Thanks to your video I've found the next best thing or even better! Tight Lines!
Stumbled upon your videos and have spent the evening enjoying them. I've recently taken to river fishing having always fished lakes and have found it really quite difficult making the transition. However there are many tactics you've used that I will give a go and hopefully they will bring success. Tight lines. Adam
Nice to watch I'm just getting back into fishing and I love small rivers, love the picture of the kingfisher.
LOVELY VIDEO AS USUAL MARK , wax worms well that's a new one to me and cant wait til im back from oz in September to try them out on the eden and wandle
Great fishing, this has to be my favourite type of venue. Putting videos like this up will show the youngsters that there's more to fishing than commercial carp puddles where you can really learn some quality watercraft. Also great lightening fast reactions to those bites.
Great video mark and some nice fish, might try those wax worms on my local river Wear for chub.Tight lines Paul.
Lovely trout Mark, much nicer looking than the stockie Rainbows I catch.
Nice afternoon session for you that mate, them 2 Perch looked in mint condition. Might have to try these Wax worms on my local stretch now 😉. Looking forward to your next video, tight lines Mark 🎣
Beautiful waterway Mark and lovely video. Thanks for posting, it's lightened up what's been a very stressful afternoon!
Tom
Very nice Mark! I've never used this bait, but why not? Here it is more a trout bait, especially where maggots are not allowed. And nice and tidy kitchen by the way 🙂
