Day 4 and I’m finally floating! And oh how good it feels. Now obviously this brings with its own set of challenges, but I’m just happy to be out of the water and that the fallen trees are behind me.
I’m attempting to travel source to sea down the River Thames. 210 miles of wading, swimming (!) and kayaking down quite possibly the busiest river in Britain. And I’m doing the whole thing alone and self-supported.
The rule I’ve set myself for this mission is this: ‘in order to make progress I have to follow the course of the river exactly.’ This allows for camping on the bank, but if I’m moving towards the sea, I have to be IN it!
Day 4 distance: 12 miles
Total distance: 24 miles

When are we going to see the full proper 20 min+ episodes? Shorts don't do this justice
Just subscribed, this is very interesting content, I'm excused to watch you navigate down the river
This is awesome. I remember awhile back tracking the beginning of the River Thames all the way to London on Google Earth and finding it so interesting! Nice to see this being played out in real life!!
Excellent, floaty boaty all the way now. All the best for the rest of the 'trip', but where is the 'Source' of the Thames? that is open for debate?
How are you going to paddle the Thames Barrier? You will need to time that well and get permission from the Port Authority.
You gonna make this long form? Need to be able to share this with my mum in a way we can make it bonding time.
I'll keep an eye on your journey towards my village on the Thames. Reckon you're a few days away from Eynsham. Can have a bath, shower, supplies etc here😊. GODSPEED 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I hate all the shorts on Youtube, i hope there is coming a normal series from you, love your travel videos.
A proper Kayak, although you seem to have gone against your riverbank camping only. Least you wont be puncturing on submerged sticks …. or hope so.
Are you going to be making longer videos of this journey, like your unicycle and other river videos?
Wish I had enough time to be able to do something like this, good luck Ed
I'm not English and yet I find this fascinating!
Could you maybe show a map of your progress each day?
Thanks, and good luck!
Please please don’t tell me you are going to film the whole thing in vertical video 😢
How much do these kind of adventures cost you? I would love to do stuff like this but i is poor!
This is a brilliant way of sharing and hyping this series up, can't wait to see the full edit when you're done (assuming, of course, there'll be one)
Hey Ed. I live in Abingdon on Thames in a house overlooking the river. Let me know if you want to stop in for a tea or meal
Dave sounds like a legend! New energy! can't wait for the long form content 😅
