Hi been using the safety pins… not only for hooks , but swivels, click ups and any other small bits …keeps them neat an tidy ….and easy to use . Some great tips Thanks
i did not understand what using oxygen absorbing pads or newspaper in the tackle box does? what worries me more are plastic lures or jigs left in there a long time as they start degrading and melting into the plastic itself

An empty soda/water bottle and a screw through the cap is faster than that steel rod…an you don't have to fight to remove it….and it's not as much of a waste when you just toss the whole thing out…
Skip the tape BS,buy some Liquid Tape from Harbour Freight or some hardware store and "paint" the center of the spool. It's simple on a caster/conventional reel…all you do is crank the handle to spin the spool and touch the brush against the spool..
It never needs replaced, never gets gooey from heat, and will never slip..moisture also doesn't get under it..
Quicker and simpler way to remove a backlash ( and your method does not always work…maybe 70% of the time) is pull lightly till the main line creates a U or V (don't kink mono/fluro),grab that U or V and pull it out a couple inches then pull the main again.Works on both braid and mono/fluro…all I use is braid anymore and after 30+ years using casters I don't get backlashes but once a blue moon…even on my 151's casting 1/32 add 1/16oz jigs/baits.
In 40+ yrs never needed safety pins to organize my hooks…LOL
You don't need to carry 50 of ea size with you….as rocky as it is here I only pack maybe 10 of ea at any time.Rest are stored in the vehicle or fishing room/shop.
Less you pack the less your stuff weighs if you need to hike a ways to your fishing spot…even from parking area to dock and boat..
And when you need to hump 5-6 rods (or more depending),baits,jigs/lures,tackle bag, seat, drinks, maybe a snack, light?,rod holders 1/2 to 1 mile….you'll want as little as you can get by with and that little bit can add up to what seems like a lot 1 mile later…lol
dude.. that small pin on your real is to stop that line from spinning. electrical tape is CRAP.
I have to say I really like the safety pin tip for storing hooks, simple, cheap and effective! Thank you for posting. (From an old boy in lockdown England).
The leg measuring tape, made me laugh. How would that work in winter?
Also, with taking line off, save old spools and attach them to a dowel rod with electric tape buildup. Then use the spool to pull off the line. Goes much faster, and it's easier to cut the line. (You are cutting the line right?)
or to reuse, go spool to spool and reverse the line so you can use it completely.
Just hook the hook to the bar on the baitcaster, or the leg of the guide.
Dallas TX here. These are some fantastic ideas. Thank you. Any further hacks on how to organize/streamline tackle boxes? Keep up the great work 👊🏻

Pretty good lakes and rivers to go fishing to
Those are awesome! For #7 I would be concerned with moisture building up on the spool and not being able to evaporate. On that particular reel that is what that pin on the spool is for. But many reels do not have that pin.
You are a very neat and organized fisherman. Great to watch your videos. Keep it up.
