Under $90 Best All Around Rod And Reel Combo For Inshore Saltwater or Freshwater Fishing

In this video I review the best fishing rod and reel combination for saltwater and freshwater fishing. This is a good choice for an all around spinning combination for small to large sized fish.

I’ve done extensive reviews on the Penn Pursuit 3 spinning reel and the Ugly Stik Gx2 rod. If you’d like more information on either of them check out these videos:

What length rod would you recommend for a penn fierce ii 6000?

Would you suggest the 6000 or 8000 for around heavy structure? What pole would you pair it with?

wow! I got my first ever fishing combo like 5 years ago and it was a 6'6 medium action gx2 with an Okuma 4000 series reel. somehow it looks like I chose the best combo without knowing it.

You can shrink wrap the handles of the gx2 and it looks dope

I can totally agree with the pursuit! I got one on a broken down rod for 15 bucks at a yard sale and it is crazy smooth and has held up as well as any reel I own! I am thinking about getting the 5 for sea trout fishing

Is your rod 1pc or 2pc/ which is better? Also would would be the difference if I go for M.heavy instead of just medium?
I’m loving your videos and I’m about to buy this combo. I’m new to fishing and don’t know what I’ll be fishing. Mostly salt water. Keep up the good work. Loving the videos you have been a great help.

What is the lure rating on the medium rod? Can it handle a 1 oz spoon? Looking for a good rod for throwing spoons and lures for Spanish and trout.

Just bought a PP4 this morning from marine west, after already purchasing a 6000 PP4 reel at your recommendation. For $99 the PP rod reel combo is a steal. The 8000 reel alone is close to $99. Cant wait to get to the the pier and go crab snare fishing.

I haven't tried the Penn reel, but I think I'm sold. I do use the Ugly Stik.
