2 bad decisions (1) vulture cats in 4500g (2) not leaving pipes, nets in tank o/night; off to 1800g

I think the Peru piraiba bit up the vultures overnight. Should have moved the vultures to the 1800 gal instead of the 4500 gal or at least should have left pipes and nets, as I usually do, in the 4500 gal overnight or for a few days to give the newcomers an easier time to adjust to the new tank without or with less harassment because installing new things in a tank causes caution and light stress for the old inhabitants.

Moved the 2 vultures to the 1800 gal.

Its okay Victor. You just wanted the best for your fish. Nobody wants to intentionally hurt any being.

My question is, why didn't you change the arapima instead of the vulture catfish?

I agree with many commenters below… making a mistake doesn't mean you are a bad fish keeper. We all make mistakes, and that is part of being human. You are an amazing fish keeper, and although I don't keep monster fish I have learned so much from watching your vids that I can apply to the fish I do keep. Thank you for showing the ups and downs of fish keeping, and keep up the great work!

I have heard there is a golden rule for fish keeping, if the fish are doing well, and happy where they are DO NOT CHANGE Anything, I say put them back in the 25,000, only move fish when there is an issue. 👍👍

This is the nature of keeping aggressive fish. All of my monster fish have scars and damage from fighting. It is a natural thing that happens in the wild. At least no casualties this time. I have lost many fish over the years from territorial battles.

Easy buddy your one of the best fish keepers. Something we can't control is fish behavior. So many times trying to move a fish out of harms way and putting them in the wrong tank and waking up to find that fish was killed over night. Usually it's our fault and we feel like we murdered our favorite fish. But it is so unpredictable. Some fish are just not compatible. I have a red tail guarami who was attacking my albino oscar so I moved him, now he was really only getting chased and it started because I moved my Chinese wells who ran the tank. I changed the dynamics and all hell broke out. So I tried to move the Oscar. I put him in a huge tank with a lot of hide and visual barriers that already had Oscars in it. But I guess the red atabapo pike did not like the albino Oscar and decided to kill the poor guy I placed him directly in harms way. Two days ago ugh. Most recent. Then the time I killed my true parrot cichlid who I grew to a massive 14 in. Get it we all do it.. never intentionally but it happens.

Vic when you put the vultures in the red tails immediately gave chase and acted very aggressive….check the playback. Its not your fault Vic…we cant tell the future. I cant tell you how many times Ive put the wrong fish in the wrong tank….I recently had a Green Terror attempt to kill my firemouth, bad decision on my end to put them together had to seperate them.

Hi Vic, we live and learn and sometimes we make wrong decisions buy you are a great fish keeper, I noticed at the beginning when you put them in that the small RTC was chasing him so maybe he was a to blame as well? They will bounce back👊 have a great day
