In one of your cast battles, the metanium MGL was crowned the 1/4oz plug champion. Is it safe to assume the DC has now taken that spot?

Thanks for the video. The question if the spool starts same easy with wrist casts or backhand. For example I am using plastic rigs and need precise casts for 10-20m. Lure weight starts from about 10gr.
I hope Shimano comes out with a 100 size of this as i am not a braid to leader user. I would love to spool one of these DC’s to 16# FL for a chatter bait.
Great video bruh! I’ve already replaced 3 of my ‘20 Metaniums with the new DC model, might as well replace the others. And they look better on the Nrx+ rods. I’m actually enjoying the new DC reels more than the ‘24 Steez SV TW I bought 😮

I was waiting for a new Metanium DC, but after none came out last year, I bit the bullet and got the Metanium 2016 DC. 😟
I still love my 2016, but this new one looks even better. I don't see myself dropping another $500 for it, though.

Nice test, thanks, now that i know its not too bad compared to regular I think im also going to get it and then spend whole day catching sea trout testing the metaniums to see which i like more, not just casting range but also the feel of them. I have also noticed that using a really good and slick braid increases performance more on some reels than others. I really like the daiwa evo+ series of braids i suggest you try it sometimes. I think if i got a 500$ reel why not spend 25$ extra to get max performance out of it.

To me casting distance is great. But the reel test (pun intended) is how does it cast into the breeze. Can I cast a square bill further without backlash into a mild breeze

Great video! You've got to have a Calcutta 100hg on the channel! I bet you it can out-cast the 20 Metanium. At least in my experience!
