Ahoy legends, this week is the third video from our trip. Shauno and I get a glassed out day where the super deep jigging goes crazy + surprise pelagic action!
It really was a trip of a lifetime! We started the day with electric reels reels and a few shark problems, but we quickly pull out the jigs and get stuck into some awesome rod bending action. The on the way home, low and behold we find a floating bouy covered in Mahi mahi and have a ball casting small stickbaits at them. The video finishes up with a filleting session and a tackle talk! I really hope you enjoyed the whole trip! it was an absolute pleasure sharing the action with you guys.

Good times aye boys. I'm not sure about the deep water species where your fishing but in NZ every deep water fish we have always has teeth so when we get bit from swordfish and dropped and the bait is scaled like one of your blue eye was….that's a swordfish. In your case the trick is using the right bait to stop the blue eye from biting and allowing the swordfish find the bait
do you guys have a commercial license? Id sell some of those if i were you !
Having been a mate on a few sport fishing boats (charter and drift fishing) all I can say is “Someone please do the maintenance on that teak transom”! It’s driving me nuts!
Boat would look 100 percent better with it done up right.
Also, that’s one hell of an adventure. Just one or 2 of the things would make a great 3 day fishing adventure. You had a decade of adventure in 3 days!
