You pretty much nailed it. I’m 6ft2 240 and I love my gheenoe classic. Very good micro skiff imho
I went from an NMZ, to a classic 15'6 to a LT25. I sold the LT25 and bought my buddies custom dorado 16 tunnel hull. It nearly broke my soul having to constantly upkeep it. I had all the gadgets and electronics. Hydraulic steering, bobs jackplate and remote trolling motor. 4 blade stainless prop, tmr scoops, 12in electronic trim tabs, lights everywhere…. I sold it for all the money and just went back to a classic gheenoe. Nothing better than a basic gheenoe with a mercury tiller. Easy to maintain and cheap. I will also agree that everything in a gheenoe will eventually get soaked. I've run them back n forth to anclote island and got into some bigger water with unexpected winds. All you can do is throttle down and drive right into it. They're unreal stability wise. I can easily throw a cast net from the front and not fall in. Gheenoe's draft extremely shallow but you do require a jackplate to really RUN skinny. There's definitely rigs that can get shallower but the cost effectiveness gets blown out. Tunnel hulls with low water pick up's, hydraulic jackplates, 4 blade stainless steel props, trim tabs etc. You might get 2-3in's shallower in a custom rig but you're gonna spend 5-10x as much. Beyond that you start going air cooled mud motors. Only thing beyond mud motor set up's is airboats.
Do you know if Brent is ok? I know this has nothing to do with your video but he hasn't posted a video in a while.
We have a 1984 14ft gheenoe that we use all of the time and it still has the stock 7.5hp evinrude motor. It has been in some rough parts of the ocean and for 40 years it has always worked as it should and hasn’t had any huge problems. They’re great boats!
Meanwhile there's a fish jumping in the background while you were talking about your gheenoe. I know you said you can take it it anywhere but do you think you need a depth finder on it? Not sure if you have room for one. Love the review about it. Looking forward to seeing the next video. Have a great day sir.
This channel has a lot of information on healing back issues. https://youtu.be/YUHJlohFcAI
How does it tow? My guess is you don’t need a big truck for a normal ramp. Thoughts?
gheenoe owes u a few goodies for your boat at this point most ppl who have gheenoes today are bc of you! Love the vids 💪
I bought my first gheenoe becuase of your videos! loved it. But, I have recently upgraded! Love your channel man
Been eyeing a lt25, I am a bigger dude so I figured it’d be ideal. I was thinking a tiller would be better than the center console on it since it is still a relatively narrow boat, what are your thoughts on that?
I set up my 15’4” the same way you have. Even had people ask me if I was you! I’m 5’10” 250lb and I’m getting 18-19mph. Hope your back heals up well. Tight lines soon brother!!💪
So sick man, your vids and the boat. I'm thinking about getting one soon. 👍🤘👍
I upgraded from a 15’4” to a Classic, it’s much better. I LOVE Gheenoes, they are so versatile.
I had that same Gheenoe for 23 years with a 15 Yamaha 2 stroke. It’s a great boat for the IRL. I hope your back gets better. An inversion table and some yoga/stretching helped mine a lot.
Yo dude I love watching your content and not gonna lie a big part of my decision to purchase a gheenoe was from watching your channel.
I miss my gheenoe high sider. I’ve got a bad back and bought a 15 Jon boat.
The fact that you've had it for five years and able to create the content you do from that vessel is a selling point for me.
Still have DMs from 4 years ago when you inspired me to rebuild a 15’4. Will hand mine down to my daughter or have a Viking burial in it / love that gheenoe.
You definitely helped me figure out I wanted one, and I love my Gheenoe, perfect for my type of fishing, exploring. Keep up the good work man .
Justin, I have been watching your channel for months. You are an impressive fisherman and individual. Thank you for all of your hard work to help the rest of us be better fishermen!
Dude YES! I bought my gheenoe bc of your videos, I’ve actually done a few videos on mine and it has been a blast! Just put a new motor on mine and it’s honestly a great boat for fishing, scalloping, and just anything! Thanks man! 🤙🏻
