Sea Trout Fishing On A River You’ve Never Heard Of

My favourite fishing happens on small spate rivers in the middle of nowhere. And the River Ruel in Scotland is just that. I spent the day exploring the Kandahar Beat, where the river is no wider than a single-track road. The beat has a five-year-average of 3 salmon and 25 sea trout… That may not excite most people, but believe me, find yourself on a remote spate river on its day and you’ll have the most memorable day’s sport you’ve ever experienced.
