We made some micro fishing hooks out of sewing needles, and a DIY micro fishing rod out of a bamboo skewer. Inspired by Japanese micro fishing we set off on an adventure to catch small creek fish using our new DIY fishing set up! The hooks are barbless, this gave us a good challenge, and it is better for the fishes mouths. Keeping correct tension on the line is important if you want to have success. Every species of fish seemed to loooove the Super Salty Squid. It was more effective because it stayed on the hook unlike the corn we tried. Let us know what you think of the episode!

I once tried with stapler pins but didn't find such small fish
Did he even put a weight on it ? I'm an inexperience fisherman and im gonna try this tomorrow? so far u just have a line stick and hook? i dont need swivels or anything?
When I was young I used to catch minnows for fun. It was a great way of spending an afternoon by my local stream. I used a bit of a bamboo cane, some fishing line and I made my hooks from little dress makers pins. All I did was bend the pin into the shape of a hook. A few maggots or small worms and we was on our way…😃👍👍
Dude I have been looking for a video like this. Thank you so much. This is a lost art for sure and I am looking to hone my skills.
They call it tanago fishing plus u can by smaller hooks than that in a fly shop store
Well my river that I have behind my house there are no fish at least that's what everyone says
sewing needles are almost always spring steel, how do you bend them? do you soften them first then re-temper them?
I've tried this with small hooks but I usually use insects found at the site which the small fish are likely feeding on. Have you considered that the fish don't have the hook in their mouths but just a piece of the bait? They are tiny fish after all. I used to do this to catch fish for my aquarium.
