Do you have a diagram as to how you wired the toggle switch/bus bar to the unit and battery?
Can you tell me what size bolts you used to mount the graph? In your product link I see sheet metal screws, but no mention of the bolts and nuts you used. I don't see where you used the pointed screws in the link for Lowe's for the screws. What male/female quick connect battery connectors did you use? Also is there a wiring schematic for the whole setup?
So do you leave the whole teansducer cable outside instead storing inside?
I would really like to see an in depth explanation of that busbar I’m lost when it gets to that point
Quick read did not see sorry if I missed Bolts through top need sealant esp in handle recess (water collects and can drip in) also maybe a piece of Foam to separate and protect SCREEN in case something comes loose down under…Really great Job and vid
Just built one using your design. ion lithium batteries, built-in charger, gas lift assist on lid, all soldered joints, color coded heat shrink. Only the 4 holes mounting the gimble bracket, no other holes in the box. Used velcro and short screws mounting the black box, also only 2 swiches mounted inside, 1 main power, one for GL-10 black box. Used gimble mount knob from my Lowrance unit (from where I put DS E-Locks on) on transducer to mount to perspective mount.
Thanks for video!
Have pics on my FB of the box, came out looking good, nice an clean, even removed stickers and Magellan emblem. Replaced with vinyl pic of crappie an some lettering.
Ok here’s the deal can I buy the cooler from you for $100.00. I want one shipped to Canada $$$$. ?
Awesome set up guys! I just built me one using y’all’s creative design.
On your portable Livescope box using the Magellan bait box from
Academy, do you have the same problem as me? My struts i used push the lid so hard that the hinges pop out on the back of the lid. It used to hold fine but after about a year the hinges come off the socket and the lid falls off the box.
How long were your lid shocks, mine are 10 and half inches long, having a hard time getting lid to close all the way?
Can you give a list of items used? I am in the process of getting my garmin live scope with a 12. “ screen. Not sure if the box would be long enough I like the set up…compact!!
Great DIY, can you list the items you used and where to locate them. Thanks
This is awesome. It would be nice if you guys can build me one and I'd give you the fee for all the equipment and stuff used also labor. Just because I don't have a workshop and tools but love fishing. A portable live scope would be a dream come true for those dock fishing.
Great idea. I also wish to portiblize my livescope. My worry is the heat from the black box. Does the cooler need a vent fan ? It is 500 watts
I like your setup. What is the model battery and how many amps? How long will it last before the battery runs low?
Would buy one? What's your price to buy one from you. The best one out there hands down shared it at least 10 times!!
18:16 confirmed by Garmin customer support that the Panoptix LiveScope transducer has a built in PT100 temperature protection circuit. Also if you turn on this transducer momentarily out of the water your not going to over heat and bur it up. You would have to leave it running for an extended period of time likely with the transducer gain turned up to even come close to damage way before this the temp sensor will cut the transmit power to the transducer anyway. Think about it people a bunch of distracted drunk anglers across the land are going to pull the transducer out of the water near shore or boat loading and forget to shut the system down. You really think Garmin want's that many warranty claims and repairs on their hand? Also a tip if you press the power button on your Garmin ECOMAP there is an option to turn off the transducer power but still have the black box powered up. It a easy way to manage this concern while boating for example if your running at speed and have your transducer out of the water but still using your chart plotter for GPS navigating etc… Cheers~
