Great little pot… works well enjoyable.fishing recommend it’s the one Con:I only wish you could buy the center extension separately to make the trap longer. I will not buy another whole trap for it. I'll just make my own.

That was a fun video. I am from Boston, Massachusetts and do plan on moving to one of the Florida Keys in the next few years GOD willing. That is an interesting home made trap. I like the size of the trap because we have big fish up here. The only problem I had with the video is The Second Commandment constantly being broken. That is a mortal sin and deserves Hell. We are suppose to use GOD’s name with respect and reverence, and use his name loosely. We are damned if we use his name in vain. I cringe when I hear people in anger say,” Jesus Christ” showing no respect. People who say, “ Oh’ My GOD “ over and over again is committing a very grave sin. GOD Bless you!!!

FYI for those who want to enjoy this without being blind-sided by a game warden or other conservation officer and hefty fines:
Learned recently that there are rules regarding fish traps that vary on a state-by-state basis. For example, the state I'm currently in requires a fishing license, trap must be labeled (tagged) with owner's info (name & addy or conservation number aka fishing license number) and restricts the size of the trap opening. You must also be able to positively identify the species of fish in the field, at the point of capture. No game fish may be kept if caught in a trap, a.k.a. sport fish must be caught in a sporting manner so only non-sport fish and bait fish can be kept from a trap. Rules for your locality can be found anywhere you buy your fishing license or online through your local conservation or fish and wildlife agency. I'm not telling you what to do, only trying to help people not be surprised if the warden checks your creel.
Side note: if you are catching fish for the home aquarium, try to find the hardware cloth that is coated, it won't tear up the fish's noses as much while they are in the trap. I've had pretty good luck with "pet screen" which is a heavy-duty window screen with a plastic coating (sold at all big-box stores, even walmart). I made the internal structure out of heavy wire in the shape of a spring, this allows me to collapse the entire trap and fit it into a 5gal bucket. Since the screen is a smaller mesh than the hardware cloth, instead of zip ties I was able to staple it together. I just fold the end of the trap like a chip bag and secure it with a big clip, so I can unclip it, and pour my catch out of the opening into a bucket.
Another side note: if you are using your trap anywhere there is a current, put the funnel end 'down stream' so that the fish are going against the current to get into the trap. This method works especially well if you are after shiners. You can put whatever your bait is in a mesh bag and tie/clip it to the other end of the trap from the funnel. Current going against the opening of the funnel also helps prevent fish from loitering around the funnel opening, and finding their way out.
