05/07 — My friend Bryant R. and I went to the non-tidal Schuylkill River at Kelly Drive for some Flathead Catfish. I ended up landing my first Flathead Catfish of the year, and Bryant landed his first Flathead ever! As a bonus, the video has some extra content of my other friend — Ronald J. — landing a Flathead as well. My personal best for that stretch of the River was 23lbs; however, as mentioned in the video, the largest documented fish from there was a whopping 38lber.

So, if you haven’t tried yet, go do some Flathead fishing! Heh. PLEASE — just make sure to release the trophy fish for better future generations of fish; don’t leave trash behind on the spot; etc.

I live in PA too near Schuylkill river, the river isn't that deep there, it only goes up to 5 feet. What's a good bait to use?

Your bait bucket…..since you make comment about bait not living long, tie a rope to the handle of your bucket and put it in the river so your bait has fresh water all the time. Great vids I'm a crappie fisherman any time your around mid-missouri we need to go fishing.

great videos, keep fishing. i would try a slip rig, whole gill, with a balloon floating around in front of the rocky shallows, just where it drops off. fish at night and put glow tabs in white balloons. massive cats, skipjack herring might work, buckets of old cheese placed at fishing spots draw cats especially blues. love my catfishing. peace out great fish

How do you have the drag set when leaving the rod standing like that? id imagine more on the heavy side since it actually bends the rod
