My DIY Throwaway Kayak Fishing Anchor Kit is super simple to make and is so cheap! We all lose kayak anchors from time to time. In this video I will show you how to make an anchor for a kayak. But only if you want to build your own homemade anchor for a kayak that’s cheap that works awesome. If you lose this anchor, it doesn’t matter. I was recently river fishing for Catfish where there was a lot of debris on the river bottom and I was afraid of losing my regular kayak anchor. I devised a very cheap and effective DIY kayak anchor that works awesome. I bought all of my materials from Walmart and the kayak anchor works great. If it gets snagged, it’s no big deal just to cut it away and let it go. Materials for the kayak anchor only cost $6.76 and it’s possible you might never lose it. Cheap and simple. If you are like me, you might like DIY projects you can do at home. it gives me a simple satisfaction to use something I made myself. Making a DIY simple kayak anchor is really cool when you are out on the river and you deploy it and it works! Yea baby! If I were you though, make sure you have an anchor trolley already and you know how to anchor a kayak. I hope you check out other videos on my channel. I have some really cool DIY kayak gear that I’ve made or modified. You definitely should check out my kayak anchor with dive reel video. One of my best ever kayak fishing mods.

Thanks. Had this half formulated in my head. This video gave me the whole picture. Saving myself $30 on an anchor trolly system with this.
its quick and simple after the 2min mark… 😛 Haha I like the vid tho! Thanks !!
Hi, I'm from the UK. Not having a lot of spare cash, I found that going to a second hand/charity shop I managed to buy a cobbler's shoe last for £4 (less than $6 US) which made the perfect throwaway anchor. Weighing in at about 3 – 4 lbs these items make great kayak anchors as they are just the right shape to 'dig in' to the sea floor. The cord and carabiner, I had in a shed drawer already. So .. total cost £4!!
I guess if you had to pay for the cord and carabiner as well, total cost would be no more than £6 ($8 US).
Ideally u would only lose the weight. Just lost a 30 dollar anchor… This is great next time
Affording it is not the concern but leaving all that line to pollute the water is!
Man you are a Genius. Thank you a lot for all your incredible advices! I like very much the way you produce your videos.
